Yosemite Photography Prints

Bringing the Beauty of Nature into your Home or Office

Welcome to this collection of my Yosemite National Park photography prints. I had the opportunity to visit Yosemite Valley for the first time just before the pandemic struck, in February of 2020. It is a true photographer's playground, offering opportunities to photograph everything from amazing vistas from the iconic Tunnel View overlook to intimate scenes of ice patterns along the Merced River.

First discovered by European American settlers in 1851 - after already being inhabited for nearly 4,000 years by Native Americans - the park was first granted protected status in 1864 and, thanks to the efforts of author and explorer John Muir, Yosemite Valley and the surrounding areas were established as the third national park in 1890 (just days after Sequoia National Park was founded, and more than 17 years after Yellowstone National Park was established).

Reading some of the history of Yosemite Valley and the plight of the Ahwanechee tribe inspired the title for the second image you see below, Hiraeth.

Most famous for its imposing granite features such as Half Dome and El Capitan, I found myself equally drawn to the endless smaller scenes and details found throughout the valley.
