Eagle Mountain Park, Texas (2024) - With “Showstopper” under my belt, my next objective was to revisit a composition I photographed back in 2020, which I titled “Hidden Away.”
When I made “Hidden Away,” for reasons unknown to me now, I hadn’t brought my 100-400mm lens with me. Instead, the longest lens in my bag was my Tamron 70-200mm. Although I got the photo I wanted, I do recall wishing for a bit more reach. So, I sought to try again with my new-to-me 100-500mm.
I also had the advantage of being able to climb down to the sandy shoreline that was exposed (per my earlier comments about the water level of the lake), which opened up more compositional options compared to 2020 when the lake was much fuller, and I was limited in where I could set up shop.
I started off making vertical photos of the area, to align with how I framed up “Hidden Away.” I decided, however, that instead of just recreating what I’d already made, it was worth exploring how the scene might work with the camera set horizontally. Thus, I ended up making the photo you see here. I once again took advantage the contrast between colorful fall foliage and bare branches as the season was on the verge of coming to a close.

Each image is individually soft proofed, test printed, and carefully inspected before it leaves my studio. Every piece is made to order and evaluated one at a time.
Artist Series prints are produced on Palo Duro Etching 315 from Red River Paper, a 100% cotton rag, museum-quality fine art paper chosen for its subtle texture, warm white tone, and archival longevity.- Printed using archival pigment inks on a Canon PRO-2100 large format printer

Sizing Information
Artist Series sizes refer to the full sheet size. The printed image area is slightly smaller to allow for a clean white border suitable for matting and framing. Borders generally range from approximately 0.8 inches to 1.5 inches per side, depending on overall size.
Each Artist Series print includes:
- A signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity
- Production date and paper details listed on the certificate
- My initials, the print’s edition number, and the production date on the back of the print

Each image is carefully prepared and reviewed for accurate color and tonal balance before printing. Every print is produced and inspected one at a time to ensure it meets the standards I expect of my work.
Smaller prints may ship flat in protective packaging. Larger prints are carefully rolled in heavy-duty mailing tubes designed to prevent bending or creasing during transit.
All Artist Series shipments include tracking and are fully insured for their retail value. Complimentary shipping is included for orders within the contiguous United States.
If I anticipate any unusual delay due to travel or material availability, I will communicate directly and promptly.
READY-TO-HANG ACRYLIC AND METAL PRINTS
Ready-to-Hang prints are professionally produced in partnership with a trusted fine art print lab and typically arrive within 2 to 4 weeks.
This timeline includes professional production, quality control, and secure packaging prior to shipment.
Smaller sizes ship in reinforced cardboard packaging. Larger pieces are crated in protective plywood boxes lined with foam to minimize movement and reduce the risk of damage during transit.
All Ready-to-Hang shipments include tracking and are covered by the print lab’s shipping and replacement policies. If any issue arises, I manage communication directly to ensure it is resolved properly.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
International shipping is available for all print types. Delivery timelines vary depending on destination and customs processing. Customs duties, import taxes, and related fees are the responsibility of the buyer.
SPECIAL ORDERS
Custom crops, alternate aspect ratios, and special framing requests may require additional production time. Framing Recommendations
Artist Series prints are produced on museum-quality cotton rag paper and are intended to be framed. Professional framing using archival materials is recommended for the best long-term protection. Look for:
- 100% cotton or archival mounting and mat boards
- UV-blocking glass or acrylic
- Acid-free backing materials
Avoid spray adhesives, liquid adhesives, or heat-based mounting methods, as these can permanently damage the paper.
Store-bought frames may certainly be used, especially for smaller prints. However, custom framing will generally provide better long-term protection and UV resistance.
Artist Series prints are allowed ample drying time before shipping. If you prefer, you may wait an additional week before framing, though this is optional.
Handling & Display
To preserve surface quality:
- Handle prints by the edges whenever possible
- Avoid touching the printed ink surface
- Display away from prolonged direct sunlight
- Keep away from high-humidity environments such as bathrooms
When properly framed and displayed under normal indoor conditions, Artist Series prints are designed to last for decades. If you need to store an unframed print, keep it flat in a cool, dry place using acid-free sleeves or protective interleaving sheets.

SHIPPING DAMAGE
All prints are carefully packaged to minimize the risk of damage during transit.
If your package arrives with visible exterior damage, please photograph the packaging before opening. Retain all original packaging materials until the issue is resolved.
If a print arrives damaged, you must contact me within 5 days of delivery and provide clear photographs of:
- The exterior packaging
- The interior packaging
- The print itself
This documentation is required to file a claim with the carrier or print lab. Once verified, a replacement will be arranged.
PRODUCTION DEFECTS
If you believe your print has a production defect, please contact me within 5 days of delivery and provide clear photographs of the issue.
Production defects refer to physical flaws or material issues that prevent the artwork from being enjoyed as intended. Variations caused by screen brightness, lighting conditions, or personal preference are not considered defects.
If a verified defect is present, I will work directly to ensure the issue is resolved appropriately.
LOST SHIPMENTS
If a shipment is lost in transit, I will work directly with the carrier to investigate and resolve the issue. Tracking is provided for all orders.
ADDRESS ACCURACY
Please verify your shipping address carefully before placing your order. If an incorrect address is provided and a shipment must be rerouted or reshipped, additional shipping costs may apply.
