Orders for Look for the Light: Volume Two are now shipping! This collection includes 10 of my favorite prints, spanning images made between 2019 and 2022.
Only 50 of these collections will be made available for purchase, divided into 4 pricing tiers. As of September 12, 2024, 9 copies of the first tier remain.
Each 8" x 10" print is produced by me personally, in my home studio, using Red River Palo Duro Etching 315 fine art paper and authentic pigment inks on a Canon Pro 2100 large format printer. This combination of museum-quality paper and archival inks will ensure your collection retains its beauty for generations to come when properly displayed and cared for.
Palo Duro Etching, a beautifully textured heavyweight paper, is the same medium I use for all my prints: I wanted to ensure the viewing and handling experience of this collection met the same standards as my standalone prints.
I've carefully proofed every image to produce the most vibrant prints possible, and each includes a small border to allow for safe handling and, if you choose to do so, easy framing. As noted, each image is printed on an 8" x 10" sheet of paper. The actual image dimensions are 6.4" x 8.4".
Included with every collection is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, and each print is initialed and numbered on the back, as well. Additionally, a QR code will be provided for viewing an exclusive "behind the images" video in which I share more of the details surrounding each photo.
Each collection of prints is presented within a soft touch paper folio that is custom embossed with silver foil.
The included images, each of which I revisited as needed to embrace the 8" x 10" print format, are:
Transcendent Glow
All That You Seek
The Witch's Firestorm

Boldness & Subtlety
Dawn at Ladies View

My fine art photography artwork is printed on Palo Duro Etching 315 from Red River Paper.
Photography prints made with Palo Duro Etching 315 are the perfect choice for anyone looking to showcase stunning nature photography. This high-quality art paper is made from 100% cotton rag and has a classic texture that adds depth and interest to your prints without detracting from the details. It is OBA-free and archival, making it ideal for museum-quality and exceptional longevity.
One of the benefits of this paper from Red River is its warmer white tone, which gives my prints an elegant, natural look. This is particularly beneficial for nature photography, as it enhances the beauty of landscapes, nature scenes, and other images with a natural color palette. Unlike other matte papers, it also produces amazingly deep blacks, thanks to a barrier coat that locks ink into the inkjet coating and prevents it from sinking into the base paper.
Palo Duro Etching 315 is a true conservation grade media, with no optical brighteners, and is acid- and lignin-free. It is perfect for producing my fine art nature prints, whether for display in your home or at work. This paper is also ideal for fine art print collectors who appreciate the texture and feel of watercolor or cold press fine art paper.
With its elegant look, feel, and performance, my fine art prints are sure to impress and delight for generations to come.
Reviews
Michael Rung's "Look for the Light, Volume 2" is a masterful collection that exemplifies the profound beauty found in intimate landscape photography. This portfolio of ten photographs, presented in a meticulously crafted case with a signed certificate of authenticity, offers viewers an extraordinary journey through carefully observed moments in nature.
The presentation sets this limited edition collection apart. Michael's technical choices demonstrate his commitment to quality, with photographs printed on cotton rag paper using archival inks, ensuring exceptional visual depth and longevity. The combination of these materials brings out subtle tonal gradations and rich details that might be lost with lesser printing methods.
What truly distinguishes this collection is Michael's masterful approach to intimate landscapes. Rather than seeking out grand vistas, he finds extraordinary beauty in smaller scenes that most might overlook. His composition style draws viewers into each frame, revealing the intricate interplay of light, texture, and form that makes these moments magical.
The portfolio's title perfectly encapsulates Michael's photographic philosophy. Each image demonstrates his patient observation of how light transforms ordinary scenes into extraordinary moments. Whether it's early morning rays filtering through forest or the soft glow of evening light highlighting delicate plant forms, his timing is impeccable.
Throughout the collection, Michael maintains a cohesive vision while exploring diverse subjects. The format of the presentation allows viewers to fully immerse themselves in each scene, discovering subtle details that might be missed in smaller prints. Each photograph reveals the grandeur inherent in these closer views of nature, transforming seemingly simple subjects into powerful artistic statements.
This portfolio is a testament to the power of patient observation and technical excellence in photography. It's a remarkable achievement that would be a valuable addition to any serious art collection, offering both immediate visual impact and lasting artistic value.
A beautiful portfolio, printed on excellent paper, in the same style as his previous Volume One. Michael also produced a very interesting video that provides additional information about the pictures he has chosen for the portfolio. Highly recommended.
