Broken Bow, Oklahoma (2022) - In a chaotic collection of trees and bushes along the river's edge, the bold trunk of this towering giant leapt out. By this point of the morning, the sky was mostly overcast, but enough sunlight was filtering through to provide depth and vibrancy to the foliage. The heron perched in the tree as long as I stood there, surveying its surroundings.
