Marching Into the Dark

Along Highway 12, Utah (2023) - I first eyed these cottonwood trees marching through this canyon during my first trip to Grand Staircase-Escalante in 2022, but the light was never quite right when I was in the area. Upon returning a year later, I was able to time my arrival for this composition as sunlight helped the bare cottonwood trees leap from their surroundings as the canyon wound its way into shadow.
